Not serving notice periode

Hi,
One of my friend joined the one MNC company in April Initially he was on probation.Company started assigning him a work without proper knowledge transfer.Also the person to whom he was reporting was joined 3 months before so he was unable to explain my friends queries.My friend didn't got a time to complete the mandetory trainings assign to him even after informing to manager.So finally he resign in end of same month i.e April. via email. In the email he mention he was ready to serve 15 days notice period (though in Appointment letter 3 month notice period is given for probationary employees also) and request the company to re-leave in 15 days but they were not ready to do the same so he just served 5 days notice period and stopped going to the work by intimating the manager. Now company is sending the letters at this address for remaining notice period dues recovery .I want to know What legal action can they take against my friend if he will not reply to there letters as just worked for 1 months with them and he was on probation?

you are bound by your terms of appointment . if you have agreed to serve 3 months notice period you are bound to serve the same .
if you fail to serve the notice epriod compnay may take legal proceedings aginst you for recovery of notice period dues

Your friend need to serve the notice or else the company can recover the said maount.
