what is the maximum time period for acceptance of resignation in a central government department. kindly mail me.

central Government service and the state Government service are different services.Technical resignation may be of no use.

There is no prescribed time limit but the same shall be accepted as soon as possible.

You have two different questions on the same thread.
1) Depends upon the fact whether your application for selection has been routed through proper channel and also if the post in State Government is of higher responsibility than yuour presently held post in central Government.
2) Depends upon the date for resignation mentioned in your resignation notice, subject to the prescribed period of notice as per the rules of the organisation, you are serving.

If the employee has given notice then the employer can accept on any day within the limitation of notice period and in that event, the employee is not entitled to claim any pay for the balance period of notice period and if the employer has given notice for 3 months and has relieved the employee prior to last day, the employee shall be entitled to claim salary for the short period.
This is general law but you have to find out any contrary provision in your appointment letter,
