Advertisement tax collected by municpals

what is advertisement tax with regards to municipals council ?

can municipals collect tax from all the shops for placing their hoardings on their own shop in which they are doing business ?

i attached the news printed tribune for state harayana now same thing is happening in punjab.

Such taxes differ from one state to another. You better contact your local Municipal office.

Municipalities do recover such taxes in both States of Punjab & Haryana
