Advance taken for seeking consultant opinion and paid

(Querist) 01 June 2013 This query is : Resolved
Hi Sir/s,
i have taken x amt from company for seeking advice and resolving some issues for the company and paid the same to him. within a few days of work done due to some hot arguments with the company officials i was suspended and barred to come office and due to the reason the bill was not submitted to the accounts. now the company has terminated my services and asking to repay the amt otherwise they will treat it as misappropriation of funds. can it be possible for them to lodge the complaint? any other remedy... please suggest.

thanks and regards,

Rajesh

Depends upon what records you had prepared and submitted to your higher authorities for their consideration about the progress and outcome of the consultancy. You could well have submitted the bill along with receipt for money from the consultant immediately after you made the payment to him. Even now in reply to their notice, you can submit the bill with cash receipt through registered post by keeping a photocopy each of the documents with you.

agree with dhingraji . you must have obtained written opinion from consultant . money must have been paid by cheque on basis of bill furnished by consultant . if you had not submitted bill do it now .
