Respected Experts , After my dowry complaint police has register 406/498a FIR against my husband only and where ass I have stated the names of my inlaws too in the complaint. Police asking us the bills of dowry given which we are not having with us. We request to police that we have given all the bills to my inlaws at the time of BIDAI and police asking to get the photo copies of bills from where it was purchased. Now my query is how the names of my inlaws will be add in FIR or how they will be punished under this law as they are also culprit for the same ? How to tackle this dowry purchased bills issue? Please help.

If in your complaint you have raised allegations against your in laws as well, they would be added as accused persons.
You have prove the allegations to get them punished. Mere filing of case out if petty dispute would be of no help.
