Respected Sir/Madam,
I have submitted resignation from my centeral govt. post for relieving me with immediate effect.I have also deposited one months salary for the one months notice period. There is no other dues against me. No vigilance/ disciplinary action is pending against me.But the department has not accepted my resignation even after one week and Deppt. is not relieving me.But I am not able to continue my duty. As I have to join another post.I have applied for new job without giving any notice to my present deppt. Can I go prior to
acceptance of my resignation by taking leave or remaining absent. So that I may join the other job?

Send resignation by way of registered post, & keep intact the postal receipt along with acknowledgement for further necessary action.

Dear Sunil,
please don't do any negative act. why you office is not relieving you. had you applied from proper channel. please say if yes, then they have to relieve you and if not they may delay this. if you have been selected for a higher post then your employer is bound to relieve you otherwise you have the option of court. but before that please clear all the things and let the members know the full story.

Dear Sunil,
Central Govt.emplees are supposed to apply through proper channel for any outside employment.Since you have not done this it amounts to misconduct on your part as per conduct descipline and appeal Rules.Your resignation canot be accepted and you are subject to desciplinary action. Please take the advise of local Advocate and take further action.

The matter is not serious as you are thinking. It is just that happens in Central Government Departments. The procedure laid down for relieving the employee is very cumbersome and there are several officers (Section Officer / Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary / Joint Secretary and in some cases, Secretary and Ministe) permission required on file. File moves very slowly. Only one month notice pay deposit is not enough. They will ask the clearance certificate from the Administration Department from where cycle/motorcycle/car loan are provided, festival advance and consumer advance are provided. They also ask you to get clearlance from the library, where central government employee is entitled to borrow books. Identity card surrender is one more thing. There are several formalities, including necessary certificates from P.F./Pension department. You cannot simply resign and expect relieving letter. You personally visit all these sections and get clearance and also follow up the file each and every minute till you get the relieving letter. All this is being told to you out of experience of Central Government employees.
There is no malafide intentions from the department only routine nature added with laziness, which is the hallmark of the Central Government, that is creating problem to you.
Wish you best of luck.
