Purchase of farm land by non-agriculturist

I am a non-agriculturist with family income in excess of say, Rs.10 lacs per annum. I am from kerala and now have interests in Mumbai. I had inherited agri land which I don't hold now.

Is it possible for me to buy agri land in the states of Kerala and Maharashtra? Which are the provisons which enable such purchase and which are those which stand in the way of such purchase?

I would appreciate a considered view from the learned panel.

in mahrashtra you cannot buy agricultural land unless you are farmer . not aware of the law in Kerala
