Abolishing land-lordship in mumbai

Hi Sir,

Was there ever a rule for short period which abolished the land lordship for pagdi tenants in Mumbai. Or is there a case going on for the same anywhere in India?
Also, can i buy the land-lordship for my particular flat from the landlord as he is harassing me for no reason.
Please advice.

Landlord-ship cannot be snatched from a person on the sweet will of the tenant. There is neither such law nor a petition is pending to that effect.

it appears you are a tenant of a flat in mumbai . if your landlord is harrassing you then you can sell your tenancy rights in said flat . around 33%of consideration would be received by the landlord .

if landlord is willing to sell you ownership rights of flat go ahead .
