Filing a case in 2nd national lok adalat, cuttack

(Querist) 06 March 2014 This query is : Resolved
We have a manufacturing (Poha/Chuda) unit which setup at Berhampur, Odisha in the year 1994. We took a loan (TL & CC) from SBI for an amount of 2.5 lacs against the property documents. All was going good, but due to the super cyclone that hit Orissa coast in the year 1999, we had to bear heavy loss & from then the unit slowly progressed towards closure. In the year 2003, the bank filed a civil suit against us to recover an amount of 3.35 lacs (including interest). Due to a very bad phase of our life, we couldn't attend the hearings or, pay any amount & finally the court had given a decision against us, providing Exparte Order in the favor of the bank.

But, now somehow we came to know about the Lok Adalat which considers such type of cases. Since, the decision is already in favor of the bank, can we approach Lok Adalat with our case for settlement of the dues for a minimal amount...??
