Ancestral property

(Querist) 31 March 2014 This query is : Resolved
What is ancestral property as per the Indian Succession Act 1925 as applicable to Indian Christians?

Can I give ancestral property that came to me from my father (and to him from his father)to just a few of my children and not to all of them in equal proportion?
What about my wife; can I give her some of this ancestral property to do as she wishes on her demise?

What rights do the daughters have in ancestral property (daughters married and unmarried)?Mainly ancestral house property which has a huge garden of over an acre?

Hope to get your valued opinions
