Hi Team,
I have given 10,000/- to one of my friends friend who was in a critical condition and in need of money. He promised that he would return in 2 months.
Unfortunately, since for the past 8 months, he has not returned the money and also never lifts my phone call..
I have tried calling him repeatedly and no luck..
He lives in the same city and I do not have any of his friends address or the contact information. Also, my friend is not in touch with me now.
Moreover, I do not have any proof to file a complaint in the police station.
Please do suggest me to proceed further legally on this issue as 10,000 is a huge money for me.

Money given to friends and relatives in the garb of loan is never to be returned and you are not the first and last case.
No criminal case is made out.
As far as money suit is concerned, your case is weak as you have no proof except your own evidence. You may not like to recover (or may not recover) Rs 10000 after spending between 20000 to 30000.
Be happy you did charity to friend in need.

you would spend more money on legal fees to recover Rs 10,000 . you dont have any evidence of money advanced . you can if you so desire issue legal notice to your friend

You ahave a weak case legally. If you initiate legal action, it may result in spending 2-3 times than the claim and still little hope of recovery.

10000 is not much price to learn lesson which people learn in lakhs.
You are lucky. On this forum there was a query telling the wife of borrower raised rape allegation when money was demanded back.
