Hindu- christian marriage

(Querist) 03 November 2014 This query is : Resolved
One of my clients is a Hindu, living in India. His fiance is an American Citizen, based in the US. They intend to get married in India, but want to avoid the 30 days residency period under the Special Marriage Act. They intend to get married as per the Christian rituals in a Church. I want to know the exact procedure of the same. Please answer only with respect to Christian Marriage Act and not the Special Marriage Act. The Act says either of the party needs to be a Christian and not both. Please clarify on this and the entire process.

Christian marriage is not possible unless boy converts.

They can register marriage under Foreign Registration Act which is governed by Special marriage Act.
