How to convert judicial seperation to divorce

Hello

One of my friend has applied for judicial separation. at time when it was applied the lawyer said once the separation is done then apply for divorce. however for separation it took almost 4 years in the family court.

Now the written argument is started and would like to know for my friend if he at this stage there is any solution to convert it to divorce and how long it could take if amendment done in same case. let me know if this amendment is possible in this case itself.

Now it is tool late. Let a decree be passed. After non compliance of this decree a fresh suit for divorce can be filed.
Now only concentrate on judicial separation.
