Difference in surnames of father and son

Hello,

I am Divy Kushwah from Nagpur. My father's official name is "Vinay Kumar Kachhwaha" whereas in all my official documents it is written as "Vinay Kushwah". My mother's name is officially "Deepti Kachhwaha".

Unfortunately my father has passed away recently. So what should i do do inherit his finances/investments/properties etc. I am the only son. What documents/certificates do i need to get prepared?

Submit your succession petition through a local prudent lawyer and clarify your position qua spellings of surname.

It is not mandatory that a person should have the same surname as his father or any surname at all.
