advocate falsely promised and took money,

Dear experts
I met a lawyer in fb he isworking in alipore court, he promised me tht he can give divorce degree in expartee in one year and took 70k frm me. But on d day whn exparte was going to order my wife's lawyer appeared and filed hma24. Now hma24 case is going on,on tht petition i came to knw they filed 125 in lower court also.
Now i want to knw is there any provision to punish my lawyer.?
2) is it gud to withdrw divorce petition?
As if i withdrew d hma24 can nt b executed..

without seeing the contents of the pleading it is difficult to advise.
You can demand your money back since ex parte divorce did not happen.

Your wife had right to represent herself and she did the same.

It would be very difficult to prove anything against the lawyer.

Proceed with the cases against you and filed by you if no amicable solution is possible.

In Simple words , Advocate job is to represent his client, He can say probability of case what will happen , but he can not promise Judge will pass specific order /Decree or not.

His promise was not proper.
Myself sure you don't have any proof to prove he promised you that you will win the case .

The receipt is for consultancy fee and he has done his duty by giving receipt to you.

His false promise is almost impossible to prove . Forget it .There are many people who give wrong assurance even if they know reality
