Dear Sir,
One of our Customer had issued a Cheque for Rs.5,00,000/- which was dated 20/06/2011. The same was presented into Bank but upon verification in the Net Banking, we see that the Customer has given Stop payment against our Cheque.
In this regard, I would like to know the consequences wherein the Stop payment can be given and what are the options available for me to approach the Legal Cell for justice.

Cheque dated 20/06/2011 as advised by the author in his query is a post dated cheque which has no legal relevance as on date

Yes this is the real problem as suggested by Shri Parthasarathi , which in normal course in overlooked and people jump to NI.138 action.
