divorce decree

(Querist) 19 November 2010 This query is : Resolved 
if a court grants a divorce decree.would i be liable to pay alimoney with the demand from my wife .and can i get married again after the decree or is there any time period

You can marrry after 30 days from the date of order of divorce. The alimony will be as the court directs.

Yes you can get marry. Yes court can direct to pay the alimony.

the alimony will be settled by the court during divorce proceedings only if she is contesting the matter.

however, keep one fact in mind if she files an appeal within limitation period...it will be immaterial whether the Appellate court specifically grants stay or not, in divorce proceedings merely the notice will be considered as stay as well.
