di i need a lawyer for a registered will to be probated in the court or can i do it myself?

Leave alone 'Probate case', even other cases like Suits, Writs, Appeals etc., one can do it oneself if one is confident and there is absolutely no need or compulsion to engage a lawyer.

You can handling the case independly,but in Probate case you should appoint a local lawyer.
