can I.O compramise the case under s 420 when investigation is on by sending the final report as c final if accused is paying the amount to the complaint

420 is a compoundable offence.the compromise between the complainant and the accused will be taken with the permission of the court.

If the complainant is compensated by the accused & no third party is involved who has incurred loss then a compromise may be materialized between both the parties but before filing of chargesheet in court by I.O.

IO has no power to enter any compromise and thus to file his final report accordingly.

May I ask relevant provision of Criminal Procedure Code giving such power to IO. My question relates to barman, Saytmani & Bhagar agreed by Prabhakar Singh and Shah. It shall definitely add to my knowledge.

I also think it is compoundable only with the permission of the court only.
