make sure the cause for PIL is genuine otherwise it may cost u dearer.
for frivolous PILs the courts have even imposed costs more than Rs. 1,00,000/-

No court fee is payable on PIL. Advance copies is to be served on State parties and corporation etc if any, and who have appointed their standing counsels in the concerned High Court or supreme court as the case may be.
