Transfer issue

Hi, I joined a central govt. deptt. a month back in mumbai but since i got old parents who need to be taken care of and my brothers are into private sector so they are unable to relocate as of now, that's why i was wondering if i am eligible to apply for trasfer to my home state. Please guide me on this ASAP

Depends on two aspects:
1) Transfer policy of the department, which you can check with the adminstration section of your office/ department; and
2) If the state where transfer is sought falls within the jurisdiction of the same Hea of the administrative circle under whom you are presntly serving.
Otherwise not.

I agree with the views of Mr. Dhingra.
Apart from the above, certain points arise in this case.
1. Are you not aware that your parents are old, before accepting the job at Mumbai?
2. Are you not aware that your brother's who are in private employment cannot get transfer?
3. While at Mumbai you will not be in a position to take your old parents since you yourself would be struggling for accommodation, what about your brothers? Can't they get your parents at the stations where they are working?
I may sound a bit (or wholly) harsh. But, just because you are in government, you immediately after one month of joining the service want these facilities.
