Improved allegations

There is a meticulously drafted private complaint and subsequent FIR against me with lots of detailed allegations in a false 498a filed against me and my family. Other cases - DV etc - with identical allegations were also filed.
Now, in the chargesheet, a new allegation of a huge amount of jewellery taken by us has crept in, accompanied by bills and witness statements (all relatives).
In this case, the private complaint was very detailed and professionally drafted.
Is it legal for such a new major allegation to surface after the FIR has been registered and investigation has begun? This allegation is also missing in the other cases filed by the complainant after this case.

You shall get benefit of this twisting of the case of the complainant. You should contest this even at the time of framing the charge and prior to that you can even go for quashing of FIR before High Court.

Thank you. Is there a specific section of the CrPC that prohibits this?

Welcome for appreciation but there is no specific section prohibiting her rather this is the process of delivery of justice in India.
