Hearing a civil and a criminal petition together

(Querist) 11 January 2013 This query is : Resolved
Can a High Court hear two petitions (filed by the same person) together, if the facts and merits of both the petition are similar ? One of which is in civil nature and other being a criminal petition.
If yes, then can both these petitions be rejected by a 'common order' or different orders are required for rejecting both the petitions?
