Building society demanding heir certificate

Dear Sir, Pls note that one of my freind & wife both purchased a flat in their name in a building. Now my freind has expired & society is asking his wife to submit some heir certificate. I wanted to know the proceedure. Kindly help.

is your wife the only legal heir . ? has the deceased submitted nomination tot he society? or left a will ?

submit the legalheir application to thasildar with dead certificate . legal heir certificate available from thasildar if person died with in 9 years

legal Heirship certificate within the limits of Municipality is provided by Municipal authorities in many states.
