This query is : Resolved
If a civil case (on property) is in the court and is in evidence stage, how many opportunities do the petitioner and respondent get to provide evidence? How do we find out who's turn it is to provide evidence ( the petitioner or the respondent) when a date is given by the court of law? When will the case be concluded and judgement given after the evidence opportunities?

1) court may grant 3 adjournments for leading evidence .
2) roznama (court record) would indicate who has to lead evidence .
3) court will pronounce judgement soon after recording of evidence is completed and arguments have taken place

Thank you for your replies to the above. I have checked the details of my case on the internet (ecourts.gov.in
) and see more than 8 evidence dates. My lawyer doesn't find the need to inform me about whose turn it is to provide evidence and never clarifies what is going on.He only assures that everything is going well and we will win the case. On a surprise visit to the court on one of our hearing dates, he wasn't even present. I am unsure of my lawyer and his integrity. He takes money for certain activity and never gives copies of work done. Pls advise if I need to change the lawyer or if there is a way to check on the case myself ie can I ask someone in the court to understand whats going on? Thanks
