Residential property on rent

I have a flat in ahmedabad,Gujarat and given on rent.my querry is can society ask for pay double maintenance charge.since last three yes I have paid Rs800/_instead of Rs400/_ as normal member pay.is it legal? I have come to know that supreme court ruled to pay only 10% more on normal charge which r paying by all flat owner.

You may first issue a legal notice mentioning facts and pray for reducing the said charges . send the said notice by regd.post a.d. if even after service of notice purpose is not served then you may submit your case before Dy.Registrar coop./before proper courts.good luck.

Refer the society bye laws and AGM resolutions. Take up with the Management Committee and lodge complaint with the Registrar of societies.

The byelaws of your association will be having proper answers to this, if the charged amount is exorbitant and contradicting the law, you may issue a notice for recovery.
