Dear Experts, i got married in 2014 Feb..the expenditure of marriage was shared by me and my wife's family. As they are from Vishakapatnam and unable to come here for marriage arrangement..they transferred money into my account Rs. 2 Lakhs..Immediately after marriage our relationship turned into sour because of her past life and attitude which is egoist and without remorse.....Rather than telling their daughter to settle, they preferred to ask for MCD and 5 Lakhs alimony against 2 Lakhs which they now claiming as DOWRY which they paid on my demand. Can i be convicted u/s 3 and 4 OF DP ACT?

apart from this i think there is no complaint yet. so better consult an advocate, if any complaint registered mean face it legally.

U have to fight on merits engaging a good and a competent lawyer.

Try to have amicable settlement and if any payment is to be made to them that should be on receipt.
If amicable settlement not possible, proceed and defend the case on merits.

Dear sirs, in these sort of circumstances whch i have mentiond above, how the case can be fought on merit? Like wat r merits. Thy transfrd 2 lakhs Online bank credit for sharng expnditure vch now thy claim as dowry.
I have few bills but not for total amnt.
Do i need to surrender to them on their demand for 5 lakhs?
