Dear Sir
Kindly confirm whether family settlement deed requires registration or not? Also please tell us will it be sufficient if executed and authenticated by a notary advocate.We are about to marry off our younger sister and the responsibility of expenses and all related ceremonies are being borne by the three brothers since our aged ailing father died a natural death this year leaving behind house property without a will deed and my mother is a dependent on us.Our sister is being married lately(age between 35-40yrs) and the dowry she is carrying is almost equivalent to the share in the existing property and all the expenses are being shared among us.Since she agreed to certify the expenses and part from the share we are going for an acceptance (family settlement). Kindly suggest.
Also please understand the matter is utmost important and private since the issue is still primitive.

Dear Sir, kindly clarify whether it is sufficient if the deed executed in presence of Notary advocate duly stamped or shall it be registered with govt authorities? If so what shall be the stamp duty or the expenses?
