These are all practical issues, you can take the assistance of a lawyer to be sure of proper filing procedures to be adopted.
You can engage the services of an advocate outside for this purpose alone so that your case is not stuck due to procedural lapse or faulty filings.

If you can file a case as a party in person then it certainly would have been with the assistance of a lawyer to know about the filing procedures.
Even for this you can take the help of a lawyer, if you cannot afford for the lawyer fee then you can take the help of any staff available in the CAT to guide you on this.
As it is a practical issue, any piece of advise rendered from remote about the filing procedures may be a misguidance.
You will land up in more trouble.
