ajay sethi (Expert) 02 October 2011
yes advisable to get it registered now .

•Under Section 58 of the Act, a firm may be registered at any time ( not merely at the time of its formation but subsequently also ) by filing an application with the Registrar of Firms of the area in which any place of business of the firm is situated or proposed to be situated.

i m also agreed

section 69 disables a firm from filing a suit by a partnership firm if unregistered but all that is required that it should be registered before filing a suit, and as already advised rightly by Mr.Sethi you can still get regisered and then can file asuit but subject to law of limitation,no limitation benefit will arise if cause of action goes bared mean while pending the registration.

I agree with opinions of Shri Ajay Sethi and you need to check also limitation act.
