Sir,

I have published my name change in gazette of India. But, still Karnataka Govt departments like RTO, Education board etc are demanding Court Decree. They are not accepting the gazette. Kindly guide me the next course of action.

Ask under RTI to concerned department-

1. What is the procedure for name change in concerned papers.?and ask the copy of concerned rule/ Law.

2. Whether gazette publication is not enough to change the name ?

3. What action has been taken on your application for name change.?

The RTI reply received from RTO department regarding procedure for name change reply that there is no specific provision is available under Motor Act.

If the RTO is not able to refer to any provision of law in Karnataka requiring court decree, he should accept the name change notification issued by you in the Gazette of India.Approach the RTO again and pursuade.
