In the absence of any DPN or any document to cover the liability it is not legally tenable to recover the loan dues through legal means. However, you need to maintain good relationship with your friend and impress him about his repayment obligation.

send legal notice to borrower to re-pay loan amount to lender within 30 days.

Legally he is not bound to pay. However, you can make a trial by sending a legal notice. He will certainly reply that he has borrowed anything.

dont send legal notice . send email to your friend to repay sum of Rs 1, 50,000 advanced as friendly loan . if no reply received send further reminders . then file summary suit for recovery of said amount

how can u forget as amount of Rs.1.5 lacs is big amount and thus take legal action as advised by me. if legal notice fails file recovery suit in civil court.
