Grade pay

will the grade pay be protected if a person joins in a lower grade pay and was drawing more grade pay in the earlier scale.( earlier in 15600-7600-39100) and now in (15600-5400-39100).this is a direct recruitment through public service commission in a higher responsibility post in the same deptt. applied through proper channel. also will the basic pay being drawn in the earlier post be protected.

Depends upon the individual departmental service rules and appointment for the post. No universal rule exist.

Service period alone will count for retiral benefits if the service is within the same organisation/government.The other conditions for direct recruitment will be applicable.
