You can file a defamation case against such persons by first sending a legal notice through your engaged lawyer. You have a legal right to live with dignity at your work place so initiate action as advised.

As father of a child of 80%handicap i can understand your pain.A law Bill especially to meet out this purpose is pending but has not been passed after that it would be offence. Our country signed UN charter some 6 years ago but politicians are busy in corruption and saving chair so they have very little time for it.
Meanwhile a civil remedy is available as told.

Also criminal remedy could be taken u/s 499 IPC.
It may be debatable in hands of accuse "as statement of truth",i am not even sure he shall get remedy even in Civil laws also or not, though in haste i confirmed an opinion. Some thing like SC/ST law is specifically required here to cover"emotionally hurting remarks "may be true but which touches to personal dignity of a human.
You are good hunter, you hunt some thing more.Keep trying.

Insulting at workplace to handicapped is offence even on today. So law has its own applicability.
