He made my life like a hell!

(Querist) 19 May 2014 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir/Madam,
I'm Maahi from Delhi, 25 years old. At the early age of 17 my parents forcefully arranged my marriage with 30 years old man who is not too much educated and I have a son who is now 7 years old. From the very first day of my married life to till today I'm just living like hell. He torchers me often with stick, bat and even with belt. He tries to make physical relation against my permission and uses to give me drugs for that. He always ask me to bring money from my parents if I refuse he run away from home for two to three months after leaving me and my son alone. The most shocking thing is my parents never support me because they are villager and have very typical old thinking and always say, it's your life and destiny, we can do nothing, you have to face, you have to bear it. Sometime I doubt he has a second wife and child.
Two days before at night my husband fought with hit me with belt and next morning ran away again with all money of home and till now I don't know where is he.
Now I don't have money to cook food, I have to pay 2 months rent, I have to pay 3 months fees of my son. I'm not getting what to do? Where to go? Whom to say? Just want to leave this world.

1. You meet the Dy. S.P in charges of the police stations in your area.

2. File a written complaint addressed to him u/s 5 of the Protection of Women from Domestic violence Act, 2005 citing therein all the relevant facts of the violence you have been made to suffer by your husband.

3. You will be heard by the Dy.S.P. and your complaint would be directed to a Women Cell Police Officer.

4. Rest assured the police will initiate action and a F.I.R. u/s 498-A I.P.C. can be recorded and he may be even arrested.

5. Meet some Women N.G.O. group like stree shakti, Nari saheli etc. in your town or city.

6. Do not worry but you will need to be bold and take such steps mentioned above.

Of course, if your parents are not coming forward to help you, you need to muster courage in yourself to fight with your sufferings from the hands of your husband. Law is in favour of women. Just follow the advice of Mr. Rohit Sharma and lodge a complaint with the police. Rest police will do for and on behalf of you. You can even ask for living separately from from him asd claim maintenance charges for you as well as your son.

Thank you so much for your advice. But as I said I have doubt that my husband must has a second wife and child and right now may be he went to her. So how could it be possible to investigate for him even I don't know anything about his place or anything else.
And I want to get separated.
Please guide!

In fact you need a help of some local lawyer, who can guide you for proper disposal of your matter.

Since your financial condition is not good, you may approach Legal Aid office of local courts, where you will be provided with a lawyer free of cost.

As far as investigation regarding second wife of your husband is concerned, that burden has to be born by you.

situation will keep turning bad to worse if pro-woman laws are not put to force against toturers.

please note that these laws (though mostly used against innosent persons) are meant for protection of tortured women like this one.
