Higher studies

(Querist) 27 March 2012 This query is : Resolved
sir i have appointed as primary school teacher at Andaman & Nicobar islands in the year 2007. i have passed the graduation from the university of madras through distance education. now i would like to admit in master degree this year but my officials said that you must have 5 years gap between two courses.

sir please advice me what are the rules and regulations to take admission in higher studies.

There are no such restrictions. If you are fulfilling the eligibility qualification for admission into Masters, you can immediately pursue the course. I think it is distance education course. You need not wait for 5 years. You can join in the course this year itself.

Your question can be inferred on two different angles, as follws:

1) Academic angle about admission: No such restriction applies.

2) Administrative approval for permission to pursue higher studies: That depends upon conditions prescribed in your service rules.

Please check on which angle you desired solution.

There is restriction of 5 years for obtaining permission to persue another degree for an employee even in Haryana.

You should confirm from your service law about this condition.
