This query is : Resolved
I had taken voluntary retirement from service in the year 2008 and my marriage had been dissolved on October'2018 u/s 13B of Hindu Marriage Act 1955. As per my Pension Payment Order at the time of taken VRS in the year 2008 my ex-wife is entitle to get family pension after my death. My query is whether my ex-wife is now entitle to get family pension as the marriage had already been dissolved by decree of divorce by Court.

Inform the department about your recent marital status. Submit certified copy of divorce decree and order with regard to the dissolution of marriage with your ex-wife and get the necessary changes in the record with regards to her being no more your wife and not entitled to any retirement benefits as your wife.

If you inform your department regarding your marital status, nothing much will happen. Till you die.
You need to inform this to them and ensure that her name is removed off the records at the following places:
Insurance companies.
PPF.
GPF.
Post office.
Banks where you have accounts.
Passport.
Aadhar.
What Shri Vijay, Shri Kumar Dobuak, satyanarayan do not know is, your wife or any wife cannot claim even 1 rupee as alimony through pension received by husband when you are alive.
After your death if you have already informed concerned. Then your wife wont get anything, your new wife might get, if provided with photo etc.

Well advised by experts Mr. Vijay Raj Mahajan, Mr. Kumar Doab and Mr. Kavksatyanarayana.
Inform your employer qua your divorce with your (then) wife and nominate the person whom you want to be benefitted after your death (if permissible).
