Do i have to obtain licence under Drugs and Cosmetics act to manufacture HOME MADE SOAPS

Does "Bathing Bar" Soaps which is performance base soap require any licence from Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

"Toilet Soaps" are ingredient based soap and they require licence under "Drugs and Cosmetics Act" But does "Bathing Bar" have the same requirement ???

The manufacturing of bathing soaps or such products comes under Small Scale Industries. If you visit District Industries Centre at your District Headquarters, they will guide you in the matter.

The product falls under the category of cottage Industry if it is made following indigenous process and in that event it will not fall under the purview of Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
