How do we verify whether charge sheet really submitted to court by police?

(Querist) 11 July 2013 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir/Madam

I am a complainant and filed a criminal case with CID, Andhra Pradesh one year ago. Now IO is saying my case charge sheet submitted to the court in Mar' 2013 itself. But keep saying still she didn't receive the case number from court.

Can I request IO for a receipt copy which proves that IO submitted my chargesheet on so and so date and to so and so court? Should IO disclose the case serial number and court info etc upon complainant's request?

Also as a complainant can I officially request IO to get the chargesheet copy as it's already submitted to the court

You need to get the copy of FIR and the date of hearing fixed before the particular date and then personally or through your private lawyer, search out the status of the case.

FIR copy is with me since the day complaint got registered.

So far i didn't been given the case number though the chargesheet submitted to the court 4 months ago. Does police should show to complainant some sort of proof that they really submitted the charge sheet to the court? As a complainant if I have evidence I can follow up with court administration to track the chargesheet status

There must be a filing register for the aforesaid cid cases in the court which can be accessed by any lawyer and not by u, at first get the case number then ask for the case record from the court, there u may find the chargesheet.

You better engage an advocate. HE WOULD GUIDE YOU TO KNOW WHETHER CHARGE SHEET IS SUBMITTED OR NOT.

Agree with the experts, nothing more to add.
