How much amount stamp paper require for rent aggrrement

Dear Sir,
I am living in Pune on rent, I have submitted the rent receipt & Rent agreement on 100/- stamp paper to my employer for HRA for year 2012-13, but my employer ask me to submit the Rent agreement on 500/- stamp paper instead of 100/-. So is it require to submit on 500/- stamp

IN FACT YOU DID NOT NEED TO SUBMIT AGREEMENT
OF TENANCY.
UNDER IT ACT TO CLAIM HRA DDA CAN ASK YOU TO SUBMIT RECEIPTS OF PAYMENTS ONLY.THE RECEIPT
SHOULD BE SIGNED BY THE LAND LORD WITH HIS ADDRESS,IN CASE RENT IS PAID BEYOND EXEMPTION LIMIT ,HIS PAN NO. IS ALSO REQUIRED.
SO FOR STAMP DUTY IS CONCERNED IT IS CALCULATED AFTER VALUING IT RENT X*12* PERIOD OF TENANCY,THEN STATE TABLE IN STAMP ACT IS SEEN FOR HOW MUCH DUTY IS REQUIRED.
OTHER WAYS ARE SIMPLY CUSTOMARY AND IMPROPER.
WHY EVEN 100/?WHY NOT ONLY 10/?AND WHY 500/? WHY NOT 100/?

well you have no choice now but to comply with your employer demands . you could have adopted the strategy parbjakar singhji suggested . but since you have already submitted agreement get it properly stamped .

now already you have made tell them to consider on 100/- as 500/- is not available so we made on 100/-
and 10/- is sufficient for rent agreement
