Hi,
Looking for professional advice on how to proceed since my wife who deserted me 2.5 yrs ago decided to file a case of DV with her local Police.
Facts/History
1) Deserted me 2.5 yrs ago
2) I filed for Divorce after trying to resolve thing amicably and things failed
3) Tried mediation and her demands were unreasonable
4) Just got a call from her local police informing me that my wife had filed a complaint against me, asking me to come next week to see them
How would you recommend i proceed. I happened to be out of town when the local police came and so they called me.
Should i accept the summons they want me to accept and sign the acceptance?
What steps can i take to ensire my and my family's safety
Look forward to hearing your suggesstions and reasoning behind that.
Based in Delhi.
Thanks

Yes you should accept the summons issued from court and appear on the date fixed in court and take steps accordingly.

What is the stage of the proceeding?
If U have been called by the police for questioning, I suggest U obtain Anticipatory Bail before U proceed.

The summons is from the Police and not from Court.
Wife just filed complaint 3 days back and this would be the first time i've been asked to come talk to the police station.
The police officer who called me on my cel would not give any details of the complaint over the phone.
So any steps other then getting anticipatory bail that i should proceed with ?
Any pressure techniques i can put on my wife and her family to make them not want to make things messy but to resolve the divorce peacefully.
Also should i go alone to the Police station or with friends and family. Any chance of being arrested on the first visit ?
