I Want to know my liability in running a rental portal

Dear Lawyers,
I want to run a rental website all over India where Those who want to give anything on rent on hourly or monthly basis will post his product with rent amount and those who want to take rent will contact them and take the product on rent.
Now suppose if anyone after taking the product on rent doesn't return the same to the owner and run away will I be facing any legal action.
Its owners duty to take all docs, but he doesn't take and will I be facing legal action.

Although being anonymous, you do not deserve any help, but still for your guidance it is pointed out that everything would depend mainly upon exhaustive T&C of your website portal both for the owner/ lessor and the lessee of any property, product or service. You will also have to create a reliable educational link for the owners/ lessors about what documents or security he should acquire from the lessee/hirer before renting out of his property, product or services.

So, you will have to hire services of some capable expert to prepare T&C and to help for populating your website about appropriate contents and to guide you about what type of contents should be there to make the owners learn about precautions to be taken before he rents out his property, product or services. Modification of the T&C and the contents from time to time would also be necessary, as per the need of time.

However, where you fail in your educative contents, as per the requirements of law, you may have to bear with the legal consequences for compensating the loss of the owners.
