Ibps

(Querist) 28 May 2014 This query is : Resolved
Respected lawyers,
As u all know IBPS is conducting examinations for the recruitment in public sector banks and others...
1.the organisation conducts online examination on different dates with different set of question papers all over india...but they say they equalize the marks of different question sets...similarly the interview is conducted on different days (continuously for 10-15 days)by different panel of members( atleast six panel with 5 interviwers in each panel)in each district..in each state...to be clear ..on a single day the candidates from a particular zone are interviewed by six different panels..thus there are differences in interview marks within the zone itself and also differs in district and state...though two candidates have secured the same marks in written marks...the average marks awarded in interview in each state differs and so one of the candidate gets lower marks after combining both written and interview marks...

2.IBPS has declared results and have released the reserved list which consists only 10% of candidates..they have clearly mentioned that those candidates who are not in reserved list are not considered for further vacancies...according to the vacancies filled and the average percentage of people who will not join this 10% is less..we need to know what IBPS will do if vacancies are created above 10%...already a case has been filed in patna high court can anyone tell me for what purpose the case is filed?token no is 030398/2014..

whether we need to file a case against IBPS for their partial interview process and the 10%reserved list issue again or this case is enough?..

Given the large number of candidates, there is nothing irrational or illogical in the procedure being followed by the IBPS.

The concept of equality needs understood in a purposive and practical context.

By your logic, the High Court and the Supreme Court should have one Bench/Court only.

What is IBPS? Is it a private body outsourced for conducting recritment tests? How does IBPS comes into play in recruitment?

you will have to contact a local lawyer to find out details as to what has happened in patna HC case . in the laternative check the patna HC website for orders passed till date

dear venu sir,
though there are different judges of high court and supreme court ..the fundamental law is the same..all the judges provide justice under the fundamental law...i can understand that there are practical difficulties in conducting interview for all candidates through a single window..but something has to be done to provide marks equally across india by providing certain guidelines to the interviewers...because though they are conducting online exams on different sets of question papers ,they are equalising the marks of different sets finally...you must also consider the fact that even one mark brings a change in one's family either positive or negative..and that one mark difference should be true and just and not because of individual opinions of interviewers of different states...

dear JC sir,
IBPS is INSTITUTE OF BANKING PERSONNEL SELECTION..which is an autonomous body conducting common examinations for the recruitment of banking personnel for the past three years...

Rajendra K Goyal (Expert) 29 May 2014
The partial interview system is not illogical but a practical process.

You can find contents of petition in Patna High court.
vijishankar (Querist) 29 May 2014
@R.K NANDA THANK U SIR...what is your opinion on my post..what can be done legally?
vijishankar (Querist) 29 May 2014
@rajendra K goyal can anything be done to prevent the rational scores awarded in the interview process.. what is your opinion on the reserved list given by them sir?
Rajendra K Goyal (Expert) 29 May 2014
One should prepare for the interview in the guidance of some professional and appear with full confidence.

Reserve list can be challenged if it is formed without proper authority, against rules or any other technical ground.
vijishankar (Querist) 29 May 2014
@rajesh k goyal thank u sir....

I have also the similar opinion hence no more to add.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 31 May 2014
Though the interviews are conducted at different places simultaneously, the interviewers are instructed to follow the uniform or common methodology hence the chances of irrational or selection ignoring the norms as apprehended by are very remote. the screening is done more strictly in order to filter the most deserving candidates suitable for the post especially at the highest level of competition for limited number of vacancies. If all aggrieved persons approach reliefs through legal forums, there will be no end for such issues, instead the aggrieved may try for different competitive examinations and to put efforts for success.
