Reproduction of the news is not violation of copy right. The news is not the property of the newspaper.

The news itself may not be the property of the news paper in every case. But the manner of presentation may be a subject of Copyright.

Yes, Mr. Palnitkar is right in his observation. Reproduction, as it is from the paper would be a copyright infringement unless due credit is given to the original source by giving appropriate reference of the source is also given along with the news item.
