Dear Members
I wanted to inquire regarding Indian army laws pertaining to Bigamy cases. My husband has got illegally married to another women after almost 24 years of our marriage without divorcing me. He has been staying with the other women since then during all his postings and has a child with her. How severe is the punishment and does the legally wedded wife have any right over her husband's salary, pension and PF in case she lodges a complaint against her husband at Army headquarters (western command)?
Would request an army law officer to kindly revert.

Such offence is taken very seriously in Indian Army so you make a representation with proof to the concerned officials of the unit of your husband. If your name is duly found entered in Part-II order of your husband and if he is in illegal relations with some other woman and even is residing in different units of Army then it is sure that he has to face court of Inquiry (COI) and further has to face its consequences.
o far as service benefits is concerned, you being legally wedded wife have only rights to claim.
