The legal heirs of an unmarried deceased person are their parents, siblings, and grandparents. If the deceased has no siblings or grandparents, their parents are their sole heirs. If the deceased has siblings or grandparents, they inherit the property in equal shares.

n India, the Muslim Personal Law (Shariat) Application Act of 1937 governs inheritance for Muslims.
If an unmarried Muslim woman dies without a will, her property is distributed to her parents. If her parents are deceased, her property is distributed to her legal heirs. Her self-acquired property is distributed to her parents' heirs.
Muslim law does not create any distinction between the rights of men and women. However, the quantum of share of female heir is half of that of the male heirs.
