Contract workers are directed to contribute 1.75% of their wage monthly towards INSURANCE SCHEME. But no medical treatment agency or card is provided. Is it in order?

It is just mentioned as Insurance, no specific insurance. Card means card to avail medical facility under insurance referred therein.

It could be Employee State Insurance Corporation scheme benefit. You may check with the employer whether it is for ESIC as it is mandatory cover for workers.

The contribution/deduction has to be shown in salary/wage slip and I.Card to be issued to all eligible employees.
