I had lent substantial amount to a person who confirmed the loans on a Rs.100 stamp paper and gave a schedule of repayment. he has not adhered to the schedule and I still have to get substantial amount.

Can I file a police complaint against him? What is the recourse I can take to recover the money in the shortest possible time?

Dear Vijay
if you are a regd. financiar you can file a criminalcomplaint againstthat person u/s 406 IPC but if you are not and give only friendly loan to him you can file a civil suit for recovery before the civil court.
feel free to call
