Is registration required for flat/property bought from relative?

I wanted to know if there is any requirement for a new registration as the owner of a flat bought from a relative or is it enough to change the name in the ownership deed?

you have to mention detailed facts . where are you located ? is it a flat in a cooperative society?

ownership deed is a new word for all of us. You need to get executed either sale-deed or gift deed in the given case from the office of registrar.
