Is that possible to get compensation for expense spent for betrothel & marriage

Hi ,
I got engaged this year (2012)June its arranged by parents . After some months i felt things will not work out between us as he is kind of suspecting nature , male chauvinist and lot of arguments persists between us . After some saturation point i felt its untolerable with him to live . My parents and his parents are not interested to quit now as its societal issue. Is that i can get legally compensation for the engagement and marriage expenses my parents spent and is that i could not get free from this relationship if the opposing from the groom side for quiting marriage ? Only 27 days more for my marriage can any one advise me . how could i take this legally

You can refuse at last moment and they can claim their expenses.

The marriage betrothal can very well be cancelled at any point of time.
Since it is nothing but a civil contract any of you can ask for pecuniary damage if any of you can show your respective loss in prestige, repute and money.
